It's G To The Dragon, Home Slice!

So...
...this guy is pretty rad.
If you don't know who he is, you're like me less than a year ago. I was looking up Inuyasha stuff on Youtube and ended up getting a recommendation to watch the SNSD music video Run Devil Run. I watched and loved it. Then I saw some cute guys at the side of screen and clicked their video. That video was Mirotic by TVXQ or DBSK in korean. Yes I became super hooked on it.

I know what you're thinking, where is this going?

Well I saw that there was this adorable band doing a cover of  Mirotic. That band was Shinee and I became one of their biggest fans. Which lead Youtube to suggest Big Bangs' Lalala
They were so cute, they reminded me of B2K (whom I loved growing up). I decided to check out some of Big Bangs other stuff. But I did notice an odd thing, people kept mentioning G-Dragon. At the time I only had eyes for Daesung with his amazing voice and TOP's equally amazing voice (both are at the end of Lalala Daesung is sleeping and Top wakes him up).

The deep G-Dragon love got my attention. So I investigated. I wanted to know more about this most beloved man.

This is the first video I saw with him by himself:
My first thought was, "What in the world is going on?" Then I found myself singing the song at random times and thinking about the video's images. It was the start of love.
Next I saw this video:
The beanie baby jacket stole my heart. I thought "If only I knew this guy, his brain must be crazy!"
He just doesn't care. Whatever his vision is he goes for it, hardcore.

From what I've read, it seems he started in the industry at a very young age. Like elementary school young. When he grew up he became the able leader of Big Bang, writing most of their songs. I also suspect he has a hand in the video/wardrobe concepts, but I can't be sure.

I saw this old video of Big Bang in their living room reading fan mail, and they were all very sweet, but there was this humbleness about G-Dragon. He lives for his fans. His dedication is a bit intimidating. He's very grateful for the love given to him and He doesn't lash out at the haters.

So often you hear artists complain about their fame but he respects and honors every bit of it. I plan to follow his lead and do the same (should I achieve any fame, fingers crossed).

Now I've become like those deeply invested fans of his. I'm not sure he could do anything that would lessen my love and respect for him.

Now, enjoy some more G-Dragon!

Oh and here are some extremely cute photos of little G-Dragon:

The Art Is In The Details

While I was on the SCARY IDEAS website I saw these amazing Star Wars posters. I found them extremely inspiring.

I sometimes get so caught up, in what I want the finished product to be, that while working on the details I get overwhelmed. I see these tiny pieces and I feel hopeless. Doubt rears its ugly head and I think, "Will anything worthwhile come out of this?"

I have to fight against that doubt and seeing these posters floors me.
I wonder if the artist who made this started putting the pieces in place and wondered "Is this gonna work?"

I've been wanting to make something like this Yoda image for a long time, but I've been too intimidated to try.

I mean the patience and the faith that it will turn out great... Who couldn't use a little more of that?

Each poster asks, "What forces shape you?" I don't want my answer to be fear and doubt. I want my answer to be faith and patience.

Part of me believes I can make great things, I just need to listen to that part a little more. We all should listen to that part of ourselves more. I hope you strive to achieve your impossible thing and that you make it a reality.

Now, here's a great song from an AMAZING band (they sent me a thank you note for buying their first CD, how sweet is that?)
"Section 2" by Kunek (Now known as Other Lives)

Oh and another great song to perk you up!
"Are You Still Waiting" by Hee Young (you should check out the official music video too)

Love this song so, so much. I'll be humming it the rest of the night : )

Hasselhoff, How I love Thee

I had planned to do some Halloween themed blogging, but a friend of mine sent this awesome link to me today because of the cartoon I'm working on. I am breaking my characters into separate body parts so that I can animate those parts in After Effects.

Here is the website my friend sent me:
SCARYIDEAS.COM
I suggest checking it out, it's pretty rad.

Here is the specific page I was sent:
Check it out! I'm super stoked.

I am so gonna make my Hasselhoff puppet as soon as I get back to NJ. Right now I'm in NC for a week or so (sorry puppet, you'll have to wait).

Feel free to join me in making this spectacular puppet. Maybe you could even design your own unique outfits for him. He's totally missing his Baywatch getup, I plan to rectify that. But he's also missing his all black outfit from Knight Rider.

I, personally, am curious how he would look in drag.
Hopefully not like this:

Though Mr. Snipes holds his own special kind of charm as Noxeema, in personal fav To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar, I am more a fan of Mr. Swayze's look by far.

Patrick is on the far left playing the part of Vida

So do you think Mr. David Hasselhoff could ever compete?

Mexican Folk Art Theme

So I was telling my friend Mari that I've been thinking about Halloween a lot. Halloween makes me kind of giddy (which might explain the previous post about bunnies). Normally I spend most of the summer preparing for the holiday, which is a favorite of mine.

However I haven't done anything to prepare for Halloween this year, which is odd for me...

So I now trying to sort out a plan for this year. I've always wanted to host a party, but never had the time to make it happen. So I end up decorating my domicile and my person but doing very little celebrating. Perhaps it's time to change that.

This year I want to make a real attempt at having a mixer for my family and friends. As I travel on this journey to Halloween awesome I will share with you any tips and projects I use along the way. I'll also try to get pictures of everything : )

Now, I'm thinking the theme might be Day of Dead, Mexican Folk Art, sort of merry spooky.
Examples found here:

I think I want to start with the food items, since I love food!

Here's My Menu Template:

Soup (something kind of orange or red I think).

Possibly some homemade chips on the side.

Funny Bunny

I've got bunnies on the brain!
I can hear Maximilian Hecker singing "Silly Lilly, Funny Bunny" joyously.

Even my recent addition to my etsy store has got me seeing twitchy, fuzzy ears.

Now I shall put bunnies in your brain.

Long Thoughts and Quiet Hours.

Today I'm feeling old corners have new light. I see the beauty in the dust that's gathered, the rust that eats, the particles dancing in shafts of light, and paint chipping in fascinating ways.

Today I'm feeling like a little girl, who finds the world wonderful.

Though this song is kind of sad in theory, I see death as another word for birth, our molecules transforming-- bringing new life. I have been around a lot of death, I used to fear it. But now I see it as a natural, merciful part of existence.

And I have discovered it's not death that saddens us, but the feeling of loss.

For those who have touched our lives, those who have shared their energy with us, a connection is formed that can't be severed or lost. From time to time we can hear their words, feel their love, and bear their smile.

So while Lee sings "Wish you were here" I sing "I know you are here".

Blessed Be.
